Ptarmingan (grouse) hunting in Myvatn area who is known for good hunting grounds in naturale birke woods and in the old lava area. Eyjafjörður and its neighbourhood also have some fine hunting grounds. To save travelling time, hunters can be picked up at Akureyri‘s airport. To get to the hunting grounds, the guides have powerful jeeps. In Þingeyjarsýsla‘s heaths there are good hunting grounds for hunting with setters. Considerable amount of public area is good for hunting where no fees are taken.
